The last guy did it for ____price?

Ah yes , the price wars. as a contractor when I set upon a price I base it on many factors. As a shopper you may feel you want the best deal. BUT is the lowest price the best deal. Come on, you know the answer to that. It is no. I did a roof cleaning job the other day for a set price, the owner had said," I paid the same thing last year but the guy also did my house and driveway" ( the guy who looked like a pro, Pressure washed the roof after being told not to, He peeled off some paint from the door step, He broke an outside lamp and he never finished the house. What do you think this poor service was from? His price was too low, His experience was either non existent or his morals were. I redid the job for a higher price and well it came out great. I took the time to do it right, I charged accordingly. I am running a business, this means I have insurance, I pay my taxes, JUST like you!!!
Why would you hire someone that doesnt. AT neilson cleaning we are not the cheapest and we are not the most expensive, We charge accordingly. My price includes my professionalism, quality of work, my legal business status. If it is not in your budget to hire a pro, then save up a bit. you will be glad you did.

What to do when your bored!

I just spent my Saturday afternoon cleaning out my garage, I had to bid on a roof cleaning job that came in today in Deltona, I am on coffee cup number 6.  (That is for the whole day) and now I am sitting here writing this Blog post. I don't know if my day was productive or not but I do feel very relaxed. Funny though as a pressure washer I'm always in tune to things in my field. I can never go out and look at a roof like I used to. When I look at a restaurant , I automatically look to see if they are grease free. I guess its the whole self employment thing. I love it. I work longer hours then before but I still feel satisfied.
How about you?

Licensed*Bonded*Insured Not Likely

Today I Booked a roof cleaning job in Deland, The home owner had asked for my credentials. License and insurance. Well I told him My license is a state tax ID. I will provide my insurance to him with a copy of a certificate of insurance, (COI) which is provided by my agent, NOT ME.

There is no license for roof cleaners or pressure washers. There should be, The damage that can be caused by an inexperienced, Untrained pressure washing operator can be in the thousands.
What is the cost to paint the side of your house if they use the wrong tip? How much does the roof repair company charge to replace a torn shingle from high pressure? Better yet , How much will that new roof cost you down the line when you have to replace it prematurely?
Do not be fooled with claims of licensed, bonded and insured.  They are tickling your ears.
Do you need to talk about an up coming project, Give us a no obligation call.

99 dollar house wash " look out"

The time has come for you to hire a professional roof cleaner or pressure washer.
It can be a struggle finding the right contractor to use. What do you base your decision on?
References, experience or price. References and experiences, well they kind of go together. But as far as the price, How well do you choose. Let me give you an example.
House wash for a house of 1900 square ft. The first contractor gives you a price of $99 ( goes up to $125.00 if you want soap)
The second price is $225.00, and the third is $300.00.   So you base your decision on price ($99)

The contractor rolls up with a pick up truck, he unloads his pressure washer and a pump up sprayer and bleach he bought from the local store. Chances are they will spray down bugs and webs with the bleach and use high pressure to blast away the dirt. Will your paint be damaged? Will your window seals be blown out? Will the algae be killed at the root or just on the surface? If They break or damage anything, who pays?  There is a lot to think about. To be realistic a 99 dollar all you can get price is really not practical in the service industry.
At Neilson Cleaning we might not be the lowest price and we sure are not the highest. BUT we are a business with a tax license and Insurance. We have professional associations with industry leaders and  references from our local chamber of commerce.

Relax and enjoy the show.

As I pressure washing  house in Sanford Florida, The neighboring homeowner came up to me asking how he could wash his home. He was a do it yourself type of guy, That good. I am too in some things. I told him what soaps he could buy from his local stores here in Sanford. I buy commercial grade soaps so I could not help in that department. After asking what type of machine he has, I asked how is he going to reach the second story of the house. His reply was a ladder. HMMMM. For a home his size my charge is $225.00, I offered to do his home for 200. and was willing to take 25.00 off the house I was working on. Just to keep the neighbors in sync. He declined.
I cannot force some one to hire me but I will say if he does it himself it will take a days work, He will probably use twice the chemicals, and with the machine he has , he will be relying on HIGH PRESSURE to wash.
Neilson Cleaning uses a 10 1/2 gallon a minute washer to apply the correct soaps, and detergents, and rinse water to give our Sanford Florida residents the best wash they have ever received.
Sometimes its good to pay for convenience.

Why hire a professional Pressure washer

In many service industries we have what they call are FLY BY NIGHTS. When our economy fell many people started to do service work. Pressure washing and roof cleaning was one area that was growing with these fly by nights. It is an industry that is NOT required to have a specific license or certification. They charge low prices to get the jobs then they will cut corners to get it done in order to turn a profit. Roof cleaning and pressure washing are services that, if not done correctly can cause hundreds or even thousands of dollars in loss. Is a fly by night going to have the knowledge to avoid the damage or better yet, will they have the skill to solve any problems that may arise. Probably Not.

We are certified by the UAMCC and the Roof Cleaning Institute of America.

Pressure washing for charity.

As a private business I am a for profit entity. I have recently joined my local chamber, The West Volusia Chamber. It is wonderful to see the types of non profit organizations there are and so many of them. I have come to see how volunteers are needed. I volunteered my time and effort to pressure wash and disinfect the local dog kennel. It is managed by the city but it is at the bottom of the list for funding. Im sure my part has helped the staff there and the animals sitting there waiting to go to a shelter. I am not looking for a pat on the back but I want to raise awareness to the needs of others. It starts right in your own community. Join your local Chamber and meet the needs. You will feel so good, You will.
Thank you
